There was a time in my life where I dreaded movement. I just wanted to lie on the couch and do nothing but sleep and watch tv. It was a really difficult time where I was lacking motivation for anything. It was during puberty and it’s probably quite common due to hormonal changes and in my case, wanting to be rebellious against anything and anyone. Including myself.
However, any other time of my life movement was and is my source of happiness, joy and vitality. I don’t train to have a “beach body” or to look a certain way. I move because if I don’t I get frustrated. I move, because if I don’t I get moody and I feel uncomfortable. I move, because if I don’t it just doesn’t feel right.
I move, because it’s natural, because it’s a basic need, like food, water and rest.
We all have this natural drive to move within us, we might have buried it quite deeply under heavy thoughts and beliefs, but it is there. Always. And we can connect to it as we get out of the mind and into the body.
It’s easy to get stuck in our heads and repeat all our stories and programs and be miserable, stiff and tight.
But in order to live a happy and balanced life we need to move. And you know what? It is so much fun and feels sooooo goooood!!!
