August E. Hohler
If we want happiness in our life, we have to welcome pain; there is no other way to grow and mature. Who grows and matures is alive and can die without grudge. As the leaf belongs to the tree, death belongs to life.
We are born and die as long as we are alive, if we are alive.
Being dead while being alive means to avoid taking the risk to be happy and to get hurt, not grow but to wither, not to mature but to dry up and die. Security as an absolute value doesn’t allow aliveness.
